The Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence (PPKS) at the University of North Sumatra (USU) has questioned 10 victims of alleged sexual harassment believed to have occurred within the USU campus environment. Police are now also investigating the incident. “We are still conducting an investigation together with the Directorate of PPA and PPO of the North Sumatra Regional Police,” said Medan Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKBP Adrian Risky Lubis, as reported by detikSumut on Tuesday (14/7/2026). Adrian stated that so far, no victims have filed an official report with the Medan Police. Nevertheless, the police have stepped in to investigate the incident. “As of now, there is still no police report, which is why we are investigating first,” he said. Previously, USU PPK Task Force Chair Meutia Nauly said there is a possibility of more than 10 victims. She confirmed there were two cases of sexual harassment that occurred in the Faculty of Medicine (FK) and the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). However, Meutia admitted that her team is currently unable to provide detailed information regarding the alleged sexual harassment case that went viral on social media. According to her, the safety, confidentiality of identities, protection, and recovery of the victims are the main priorities of the PPK Task Force.
