Police Investigate Alleged Misuse of Subsidised Fuel in North Morowali

Palu (ANTARA) - The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police (Polda Sulteng) is investigating an alleged criminal act of misusing the transportation or trade of subsidised fuel oil (BBM) in the form of bio-solar in North Morowali Regency. The Head of Public Relations Division (Kabidhumas) of Polda Sulteng, Senior Commissioner Djoko Wienartono, stated in Palu on Monday that the investigative team from Unit I Subdit IV for Specific Crimes (Tipidter) secured two tanker trucks in Tompira Village, Petasia Timur Subdistrict, North Morowali Regency. He explained that the two secured vehicles, a Hino 500 tanker truck and a Dutro tanker truck, were suspected of transporting subsidised bio-solar fuel without official documentation. He said that when asked to show the Delivery Order (DO) from the Pertamina depot, the drivers could not present them, so the officers secured both vehicles along with the drivers for further questioning. Currently, he added, the police are conducting initial examinations of the two drivers and securing the evidence in the form of the two tanker trucks loaded with subsidised fuel. The Kabidhumas also emphasised that they will firmly address all forms of misuse in the distribution of subsidised fuel. He also urged the public and business actors to comply with applicable regulations regarding fuel distribution and not to engage in illegal practices that could harm the state and the wider community.
