Police investigate alleged detention of Ahmad Bahar's daughter by Hercules
Jakarta, Kompas.com - The Metro Jaya Regional Police will investigate a report of alleged detention of Ilma Sani Fitriana (33), the daughter of writer Ahmad Bahar.
In the case, Ilma reported the Chairman of GRIB Jaya, Rosario de Marshall alias Hercules, in connection with alleged deprivation of liberty and hostage-taking.
Public Relations Division Head of Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, said the report had been received by the police on Friday, 22 May 2026, at around 14:00 WIB.
‘The Metro Jaya Police, wherever, cannot refuse reports from the public. The police will surely conduct an investigation,’ Budi told reporters on Saturday, 23 May 2026.
He explained that if criminal elements are found during the investigation and a case conference is held, the handling status of the case can be upgraded to the prosecution stage. ‘If a case conference is held during the investigation, there is a transfer of status from lidik to sidik or penyidikan,’ he said.
Currently, the report remains at an early handling stage after being received by the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT).
‘It will later be distributed for handling, whether by the Ditreskrimum, to which sub-directorate will handle it. From the sub-directorate, the administrative procedures for either prosecution or investigation will be issued,’ Budi said.
He added that to date the police have only received reports from one complainant.
‘The report was only received yesterday afternoon. That means the inquiries will start later,’ he said.
The report is registered under LP/B/3678/V/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA dated 22 May 2026.
In the report, Hercules and GRIB Jaya are accused under Article 446 of the Indonesian Penal Code on Deprivation of Liberty of a Person in conjunction with Article 451 on Hostage-taking.
Ilma’s legal counsel, Gufroni, said his client alleges violence during an alleged hostage-taking by a GRIB Jaya member on Sunday, 17 May 2026.
