We have increased security at several docks on tourist islands and inhabited islands to ensure that ship departures and tourist visits proceed safely, orderly, and smoothly. The presence of personnel in the field is also to provide maximum service to the public,” said the Chief of Police for the Thousand Islands, AKBP Argadija Putra, in a statement on Friday (15/5/2026).

The increased security is part of a routine strong point activity conducted on Friday (15/5). This activity is carried out to ensure the smooth flow of activities for local residents and tourists.

“Personnel are stationed at strategic points at ship departure and arrival docks to carry out surveillance, regulate passenger flow, and provide security and public order appeals to the public,” he said.

The security measures also aim to anticipate passenger congestion during the long holiday. He predicts an increase in the number of tourists.

“In addition to providing security, officers also help with the process of passengers boarding and disembarking to ensure it runs smoothly and safely. The presence of Polri personnel at the docks has received a positive response from the public because it is considered to provide a sense of security and comfort for users of sea transportation services,” he said.
