Police in the dark over Bandung blasts

BANDUNG: Police have no leads in two separate bomb blasts that shook Bandung on Wednesday.

Police investigators so far have only been able to identify the substances used in the bombs and how they were detonated.

Officers said the bombs consisted of sulfur and chlorate wrapped in small pipes and connected to batteries as the power source.

"We also found a timer attached to the bombs," Insp. Gen. Edi Darnadi, the chief of West Java Police, said on Friday. -- JP
