Police in Serang Ban Students from Roaming After 10pm to Prevent Brawls
Serang Police Chief AKBP Andri Kurniawan is taking anticipatory measures against youth brawls during this year’s Ramadan. He has urged children and teenagers not to go out late at night.
“I urge all parents to ensure their children are home by 10pm at the latest. They should not be out without a clear purpose,” Andri said on Thursday (19/2/2026).
He explained that parents play a crucial role in supervising and preventing their children from becoming perpetrators or victims of crime. The advisory is also intended to reduce the risk of traffic accidents at night.
Andri emphasised that security and public order are not solely the responsibility of the police but of all elements of society. Synergy between residents and the police is essential to creating a safe and comfortable environment during Ramadan.
“We cannot work alone. Community participation is vital in maintaining the security of their respective neighbourhoods,” he said.
Furthermore, Andri urged the public, particularly young people, to refrain from engaging in brawls or illegal street racing, both of which are against the law. Such activities not only endanger safety but can also lead to legal proceedings.
“Avoid brawls, illegal racing, and all forms of harmful activities. Let us work together to maintain security and order so that Ramadan proceeds safely and with full blessings,” he said.
