South Lampung (ANTARA) - The South Lampung Police (Polres Lamsel) are implementing a ticket screening system along with the provision of marker stickers for holidaymakers’ vehicles at several points to anticipate vehicle congestion at Bakauheni Port.

The Head of Operations of South Lampung Police, Kompol Deprison, in Kalianda on Sunday, explained that the implementation of this system is a preventive measure to keep conditions at the port safe and conducive.

“This screening aims to reduce density at the port. Vehicles that already have tickets will be marked with stickers according to their destination port,” he said.

According to him, the checks are being carried out at security posts KM 67 B, 49 B, and KM 20 B on the Trans-Sumatra Toll Road, as well as at the Kalianda Expo security post, Gayam security post, and on the eastern cross route near the Tiga Saudara eatery.

He emphasised that officers will give green stickers to vehicles that already have tickets and will cross via the ASDP Bakauheni Port. Meanwhile, red stickers are given to vehicles entering the port area only for pick-up purposes at the terminal.

Yellow stickers are given to vehicles that already have tickets and are heading to the BBJ (Bandar Bakau Jaya) Port.

“With this marking, officers in the field can easily identify the vehicle’s destination, making traffic regulation more effective,” he said.

Therefore, for holidaymakers who do not yet have tickets when checked at the screening posts, officers will humanely direct them to purchase tickets first through official outlets or counters available nearby.

“We urge the public to already have tickets before entering the port area. If not, please buy them at official counters to avoid problems at the port,” he said.

He added that this system is also part of traffic engineering management to support the smooth flow of Eid outbound and return travel.

South Lampung Police remind the public to always follow officers’ instructions and purchase tickets through official channels to avoid issues on site.

“In emergencies or if police assistance is needed, the public can contact the 110 call centre service, which is active 24 hours,” he said.
