Police Implement Partial One-Way System on Nagreg Route Today
Police have implemented a partial one-way traffic engineering scheme on the Nagreg route to reduce congestion in the homecoming traffic flow. This scheme is deemed effective in smoothing vehicle movement towards Garut. The volume of vehicles passing through on Thursday afternoon was reported to be lower than the peak density from the previous night to early morning. This condition serves as an initial indicator of the declining homecoming traffic on the southern route of West Java. Bandung Police Chief, Kombes Pol Aldi Subartono, stated that the partial one-way system has been applied several times throughout the day. “In total today, we have carried it out three times. It can be seen that this is the third partial one-way, with vehicles moving quickly towards Limbangan,” said Aldi at the Cikaledong Security Post on Thursday (19/3/2026). Aldi explained that this traffic engineering is conducted in collaboration with Garut Police and the Transportation Department to disperse vehicle queues. The vehicle queue position was said to extend from Cikaledong to Limbangan. Aldi mentioned that the peak of the homecoming flow is estimated to have occurred from early Thursday morning until 6 a.m. “From last night until this morning around 6 a.m., that seems to have been the peak. Because if we look at today, the volume is less compared to last night and earlier today,” said Aldi. Previously, congestion had occurred on the Nagreg route starting from the Cikaledong area to Cicalengka. The traffic flow was dominated by homecomers from the Jabodetabek and Sumatra regions. The congestion gradually eased after the implementation of the one-way system towards Limbangan, Garut. Meanwhile, traffic flow on the toll road from Cileunyi to Rancaekek is monitored as busy but smooth.
