Police Implement One-Way System in Puncak Bogor Towards Jakarta
Police have implemented a one-way traffic arrangement on the Puncak Bogor route in West Java towards Jakarta during the Eid al-Fitr return flow on Saturday (28/3). Bogor Police Traffic Unit Head, Iptu Ardian Novinanto, stated that the arrangement is intended to ease vehicles returning or heading to Jakarta. Although he acknowledged that the number of vehicles wanting to go to Puncak remains high. “Currently, we are limiting vehicles heading upwards, then we will carry out a one-way arrangement from Puncak to Jakarta or one-way downwards, where currently the dominant downward flow is experiencing slowdowns,” he told reporters. He said that officers are also continuously stationed at congestion points such as Megamendung, Simpang Pasir Muncang, and Pasar Cisarua. Ardian added that based on data from the Ciawi Toll Exit until 12:00 WIB, there were 19,000 vehicles heading to Puncak and 12,800 vehicles heading to Jakarta. “So this will increase, where vehicles that will go down until now are still held around the Puncak tourist area and have not yet entered the Jagorawi Toll direction,” he said. Therefore, he assured that the route closure to Puncak is situational, referring to the existing vehicle volume. “We are implementing restrictions on vehicles going up, so we close those heading to Puncak, and currently we are processing to open one-way downwards or one-way down,” he said.
