Police Implement One-Way System from Jakarta to Bogor Peak Today
The Bogor Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas Polres Bogor) has prepared a traffic engineering scheme in the form of a one-way system, to be implemented today, Sunday (22/3), H+1 Eid al-Fitr, to prevent vehicle build-up in the Puncak tourist area, Bogor.
Bogor Police Traffic Unit Deputy Chief, Iptu Ardian Novianto, explained that this policy is intentionally applied only after the holiday to respect the local community.
“Traffic engineering such as the one-way system that we will implement later will be carried out on H+1,” said Ardian, quoted from the Korlantas Polri website, Sunday (22/3).
Ardian stated that the decision to forgo traffic engineering on the first day of Eid was taken as a form of police tolerance towards local traditions.
Ardian mentioned that this was done so that local residents could carry out activities, pay visits, and gather with family without being hindered by road regulations.
“We respect the customs and culture during the holiday,” he said.
Quoted from the Instagram @satlantaspolresbogor.ntmc, the one-way scheme is currently in effect for vehicles from the direction of Jakarta towards Puncak.
“Currently, the Puncak route is implementing one-way upwards to Cianjur,” the post stated.
