Police Implement Contraflow Measures from PIK Golf to Avenue Amid Indomaret Tower Protest in North Jakarta

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The North Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Unit has implemented traffic management measures, including contraflow on Marina Raya Road in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area of North Jakarta on Tuesday (26 May 2026) following a protest outside the Indomaret Tower.

Assistant Commissioner Danu Prakoso, Deputy Head of Traffic Unit for North Jakarta Metropolitan Police, stated that contraflow was enforced along Marina Raya Road from Damai Indah PIK Golf to PIK Avenue.

He explained that vehicles travelling from Marina Raya Road towards Pantai Indah Kapuk Road are temporarily being directed to turn around in front of PIK Avenue.

“We have slightly redirected the turn towards Pantai Indah Kapuk Road,” Danu said.

“All other traffic is flowing normally with no disruptions,” he added.

KOMPAS.com’s observation at the scene around 11:00 WIB showed protesters continuing to arrive in motorcycle convoys.

The increasing number of protesters has caused traffic congestion on Pantai Indah Kapuk Road.

This is because part of the road is being occupied by demonstrators.
