Police identify vehicles carrying out zigzag stunts on the toll road

Jakarta — The Traffic Directorate of the Metro Jaya Regional Police has identified several cars that performed stunts by driving in a zigzag pattern on a toll road. “We have identified the vehicles via CCTV (surveillance cameras), and we have obtained data corresponding to the registered license plates,” said AKBP Reiki Indra Brata Manggala, head of PJR Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, in a statement in Jakarta on Friday. He said the next step is to locate and approach the drivers involved in the actions. “We will issue verbal warnings and provide educational guidance to the drivers,” Reiki said. “Through verbal warnings, it is hoped that similar incidents will not recur. Because it can disrupt the comfort of other road users,” he added. Earlier, a video circulated on Instagram on Wednesday (4/3) posted by @lintasjakartaupdate showing several vehicles performing zigzag stunts on the Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu (Becakayu) toll road, East Jakarta. “A zigzag convoy on a highway like this clearly endangers other road users,” the account wrote. The account also noted that such actions are not a good example and carry a high risk of causing a multi-vehicle crash.
