The Directorate of Narcotics Crimes (Dittipidnarkoba) of the Indonesian National Police (Bareskrim Polri) is currently identifying an international narcotics syndicate involving a Malaysian airline pilot, identified by the initials MS, acting as a courier.

Kombes Pol Awaludin Amin, Head of Sub-directorate 2 of Dittipidnarkoba Bareskrim Polri, stated that investigators are actively pursuing the remaining members of the network involved in the smuggling of 25 kilograms of ecstasy through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, on 29 July 2026.

“Currently, they are still within the Jakarta area. Therefore, we ask for everyone’s prayers so that we, alongside Customs and other stakeholders, can quickly uncover the rest of the network,” said Awaludin.

As part of their commitment to tackling narcotics crime, the Indonesian National Police stated they will conduct intensive pursuits across all escape routes, including both air and sea.

He further explained that regarding the smuggling case involving the pilot, the suspect tested positive for several types of prohibited substances. Deep investigations revealed that the pilot had previously been involved in smuggling narcotics on three occasions: first, transporting methamphetamine to Sabah, Malaysia; second, transporting 7 kilograms of methamphetamine to Jakarta; and third, transporting ecstasy and methamphetamine to Jakarta, which was ultimately intercepted by Customs officers at Soekarno-Hatta Airport.

“The suspect admitted to bringing these illegal goods into Indonesia three times, with details involving two instances in Jakarta and one instance in another region,” he added.

As a result of these actions, the police are applying multiple layers of charges that carry heavy prison sentences.

“The suspect is charged under Article 113 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 114 paragraph (2), in conjunction with Article 13132 paragraph (1), subsidiarity Article 609 paragraph (2),” he concluded.
