Police have identified the identities of four suspects believed to be involved in the machete attack on a student named Davi Sepriansah (16) on Jalan Kali Sekretaris, near SMP Negeri 101 Kemanggisan, Palmerah, West Jakarta, on Monday (27/7).

The Head of the Mobile Brigade Unit of the West Jakarta Metro Police, AKP George Ruben, stated that investigations are ongoing to arrest the suspects involved in the assault. “It is true that we have identified four suspects. They are currently being pursued,” George told reporters in Jakarta on Friday.

A joint team is continuing a series of investigations to uncover all involved parties. During the investigation, officers conducted a crime scene investigation (TKP) alongside the Palmerah Police Criminal Unit. “We conducted the crime scene investigation with the Palmerah Police Criminal Unit and have collected several CCTV recordings, as well as statements from witnesses at the scene,” said George.

Previously, an 11th-grade student, Davi Sepriansah (16), sustained head injuries after being slashed by a group of individuals, suspected to be fellow students, on Jalan Kali Sekretaris, Palmerah, West Jakarta, on Monday (27/7). As a result of the incident, the victim required hospital treatment and received three stitches to his head.

Speaking at his home on Tuesday (28/7), Davi recounted that the incident occurred around 3:30 PM WIB while he was still in his school uniform and was escorting his sibling, Abas (16), home. “When we reached his house, he was in front of me and I was behind him. Then, my sibling almost got hit by a vehicle, so he swerved to avoid it,” Davi said.

“I was behind him. I looked to the left because of a motorcycle, and when I looked back to the right, I was slashed here,” he continued. He noted that there were four perpetrators arriving on two motorcycles, with two people on each bike.

Davi also revealed that one of the attackers swung a weapon, which he described as resembling a long ruler, towards his head. After the attack, the perpetrators fled the scene immediately. “I screamed, I was in total shock. My sibling held my head while they ran away,” he added.
