Police hunt Thai woman's kidnapper

TANGERANG: Tangerang Police are tracking down a taxi driver who
abducted Chanita Watcharapian, a 34-year-old Thai woman, who
arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Sunday.

"We have a description of the taxi driver from eye witnesses
and we are now pursuing him," head of Cipondoh Police subprecinct
Adj. Comr. Sudaryo was quoted by Antara as saying on Tuesday.

Chanita was abducted while she was taking a taxi from the
airport heading to a hotel in East Jakarta. But the taxi with
license plate number B-1990-LU and taxi number 6421 took her to
Cipondoh instead at around 8:30 p.m.

Chanita, was able to escape her would-be abductor when she
managed to jump out of the taxi as it was driving slowly on Jl.
Matahari, Pinang subdistrict, Tangerang.

Local residents who helped Chanita, took her to Cipondoh
