The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Bekasi Metro Police has deployed personnel to hunt for a man with the initials HSLT, suspected of repeatedly assaulting his girlfriend in the South Cikarang area, Bekasi Regency, West Java. “Currently, personnel from the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) along with the Criminal Investigation Unit’s Opsnal team are still in the field tracking down and pursuing the reported individual,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. Budi stated that the pursuit is a priority to ensure legal certainty and provide protection to the victim. He also urged the reported individual to be cooperative and surrender immediately. He mentioned that the case began with a report from the victim, a woman with the initials TS, who came to the Bekasi Metro Police Headquarters with bruises on her face and hands. “The injuries were allegedly the result of repeated physical violence committed by HSLT from 29 June to 8 July 2026,” Budi said. “The victim TS eventually managed to escape by climbing out through a window, taking advantage of a situation when the reported individual had left their residence,” Budi added. He said the victim then immediately reported the assault incident to the Bekasi Metro Police. Budi also assured that the handling of the case is proceeding according to applicable legal procedures, with the main focus on arresting the reported individual to account for his actions. The police are continuing to hunt the suspected perpetrator of the week-long confinement and assault of a 25-year-old woman with the initials TS from North Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency, after receiving a complaint report from the victim. Acting Bekasi Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Ikhlas Putro Wasono, said investigators from the PPA Unit and the Mobile Detective Unit (Resmob) have been deployed to pursue the suspected perpetrator. “We have received a report of a confinement incident, and currently, members of the PPA Unit and the Resmob Unit of the Bekasi Metro Police are hunting the perpetrator. Please pray that this case is quickly resolved and the perpetrator is promptly arrested,” said Ikhlas in Cikarang on Monday (13/7).
