Police Hunt Suspect in Brutal Three-Year Captivity and Abuse Case in Bandung
The West Java Regional Police are intensifying their manhunt for a suspect, identified by the initials TH, who allegedly kidnapped and brutally abused a woman for three years in Bandung Regency. The victim, a 29-year-old woman with the initials YTT, was found with severe injuries, including blindness and an inability to speak, and is currently receiving treatment at Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung.
Directorate of General Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimum) officers have previously raided the suspect’s location, but he managed to escape. Police spokesperson Kombes Pol Hendra Rochmawan stated on Friday (19/6/2026) that the suspect is constantly moving to evade capture, and officers are continuing their pursuit. The case has drawn public attention due to the prolonged nature of the captivity and the extreme violence inflicted on the victim.
