Police Hunt Suspect Behind Viral Car Stone-Throwing Incident in Jagakarsa

The Jagakars Sector Police (Polsek) are currently hunting for a man suspected of throwing stones at a car in the Jagakarsa area, South Jakarta. The act previously went viral on social media through a video recording showing the man’s anarchic actions.

The Chief of Jagakarsa Police, Kompol Nurma, confirmed that the authorities have identified the individual suspected of the stone-throwing. Officers are currently on the ground conducting a manhunt to apprehend the suspect.

“We already have the data on the perpetrator; we are currently searching for the individual,” Kompol Nurma told reporters, as reported by Antara on Wednesday (2/9).

Based on the circulating video, the stone-throwing incident was allegedly triggered by a traffic accident involving the suspect and the victim’s vehicle. Following a roadside dispute, the man allegedly picked up a stone and threw it at the car.

Despite the widespread circulation of the video, Nurma revealed that no official report has been filed with the Jagakarsa Police by the vehicle owner or the victim as of yet. However, the police are taking proactive steps to address the public’s concerns.

Police have ensured that the roles of both the perpetrator and the victim in this incident are clearly visible. Investigations continue to maintain public order and prevent similar incidents from recurring within the South Jakarta jurisdiction.

Moving forward, the police will conduct a deeper investigation into the full chronology of the event once the parties involved, both the perpetrator and the victim, have been officially questioned.
