Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) are following up on the actions of a group of motorcyclists suspected of damaging a barrier on the Casablanca Non-Toll Elevated Road (JLNT) in South Jakarta in order to create content. Police are currently searching for the riders.

“It is being investigated further,” said Jakarta Metropolitan Police Traffic Directorate Chief Commissioner Komarudin on Monday (23/2/2026).

Komarudin stated that the motorcyclists’ actions in crossing the Casablanca JLNT endangered both themselves and others. The General Crimes Directorate of Jakarta Metropolitan Police is investigating the criminal element of property destruction involved.

“It is not only dangerous — we are also investigating the criminal destruction aspect,” he said.

For context, motorcycles and other two-wheeled vehicles are prohibited from using the Casablanca JLNT. The elevated road is designated exclusively for four-wheeled vehicles or larger, with signage already installed at the location.

The actions of the motorcycle group went viral on social media on Monday (23/2). One motorcyclist was seen burning the rope securing the JLNT Casablanca barrier. Once the barrier was open, the group of riders sped en masse along the elevated road.

“Time for people to enjoy showing off,” read the caption on the video.

The motorcyclists were seen wearing black hooded jackets bearing the words “Youth Style”, “Confused”, and “Stressed”. Most of the group also had no number plates fitted to their vehicles.

The narration indicated their actions were carried out solely to create content. The motorcycle group rode in convoy along the Casablanca JLNT, which by regulation prohibits motorcycles. Several of them were also seen riding without number plates and without helmets.
