Police HQ to have 23-story building

JAKARTA: The Jakarta Police Headquarters will have a new Rp 660.1 billion (US$71.19 million) building constructed in its compound on Jl. Sudirman, South Jakarta.

The 23-story building will house the newly inaugurated counterterror detachment (Den88). The squad, led by Adj. Sr. Comr. Tito Karnavian, comprises a crime squad, an intelligence team and an investigative team.

City police chief Insp. Gen. Firman Gani said on Wednesday that all donations from the public for the construction work would be made accountable and transparent. -- JP
