Police Hold Joint Dhikr and Prayer Ahead of 80th Bhayangkara Day
The Indonesian National Police (Polri) held a joint dhikr and prayer session at the Al-Ikhlas Mosque at its headquarters in South Jakarta. The activity is part of the series of events commemorating the 80th Bhayangkara Day.
The event was attended by a number of Polri’s principal officials and was also followed virtually by all police ranks across Indonesia.
Head of the Polri History Centre, Brigadier General Abas Basuni, stated that the activity held deep meaning for all Bhayangkara members, especially in welcoming the 80th year of service.
‘I think this is a very good momentum to recall the noble values of Tribrata, which serve as the life guidelines for Polri members. Through joint dhikr and prayer, we ask God Almighty to grant Polri strength, protection, and the ability to carry out the duty of serving the community as best as possible,’ Abas Basuni said in a statement on Thursday (25/6/2026).
Abas expressed hope that at the age of 80, Polri can continue to transform into an institution that is increasingly professional, adaptive, and solution-oriented in facing the challenges of the times. He emphasised the importance of internalising Tribrata values as the foundation of service.
‘Our hope is that at the age of 80, Polri will be more professional, more beloved by the community, and continue to provide Precise services. The Tribrata values interpreted in this series of activities must serve as a guide for all members in carrying out their duties and responsibilities,’ he said.
The joint dhikr and prayer session was held as an expression of gratitude as well as a means to seek protection and smoothness in carrying out the duty of service to the community, nation, and state. All personnel were invited to reflect on the Tribrata values as a moral compass.
Through this activity, Polri reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining integrity and strengthening the spirit of service. The event also served as a moment for Polri members to seek blessings in carrying out their mandate as protectors, guardians, and servants of the community.
