Police Headquarters Pursues Drug Kingpin Using Ride-Hailing Services to Distribute Narcotics
The Narcotics Crime Directorate of the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency is pursuing a drug kingpin named Frendy Dona (38 years old), who distributed prohibited substances via online motorcycle taxi (ojol) services in East Jakarta.
“Wanted list (DPO), namely FD. Role as a drug kingpin,” said the Director of Narcotics Crimes at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, Brigadier General of Police Eko Hadi Santoso, in his statement on Friday (17/4/2026).
Frendy’s drug network was uncovered after the Criminal Investigation Agency found a location suspected to be a clandestine lab for producing vape cartridges containing etomidate in East Jakarta.
The revelation began with a report from a ride-hailing driver who suspected a package he was to deliver.
“After checks and examinations by Subdit IV personnel, 13 (thirteen) black-coloured cartridge packages with the MAFIA logo suspected to contain etomidate liquid and 1 (one) clear package suspected to contain crystal methamphetamine were found,” said Eko.
Following up on the findings, a joint team from Subdit IV of the Narcotics Crime Directorate at the Criminal Investigation Agency conducted a control delivery technique and disguised themselves as ojol couriers to develop the case.
The operation led to the Pesanggrahan area in South Jakarta before narrowing down to East Jakarta.
From the examination results, AW played the role of controlling ojol couriers in the network.
He admitted to having carried out drug deliveries 37 times on the orders of a kingpin with the initials FD, who is now on the wanted list (DPO).
Based on further investigation, police then raided an apartment unit in the Pulo Gadung area, East Jakarta, suspected to be Frendy’s operational base.
In addition, hundreds of vape packaging of various brands, empty cartridges, and liquids suspected to contain etomidate were found.
From the two raid locations, police seized various types of narcotics, including crystal methamphetamine with a total net weight of around 148.16 grams, cannabis with a total net weight of around 23.28 grams, dozens of vape cartridges containing suspected etomidate liquid.
Additionally, one ecstasy pill and various drug packaging equipment were found.
Deliveries were made via ojol services or directly, with payment of around Rp 100,000 per delivery.
If stock ran out, AW would retrieve the goods from the apartment suspected to be Frendy’s headquarters.
