Police Handle Alleged Extortion of Young Entrepreneur, Case File Submitted to District Prosecutor's Office

The Head of Criminal Investigation at the Central Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Roby Hery Saputra, confirmed that the handling of the alleged extortion case against a young entrepreneur with the initials VL has reached the stage of submitting the case file to the District Prosecutor’s Office. The progress has even reached the stage of transferring the case file, the suspect, and evidence to the Prosecutor’s Office. “It is already at the stage of submission of the case file to the Central Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office,” he said in a statement in Jakarta, Thursday (11/6/2026).

Previously, a young entrepreneur with the initials VL admitted he is still traumatised after becoming a victim of alleged extortion and threats, reportedly carried out by a lawyer named Bangun Paulus Tudungta and several of his associates. The case, which occurred in February 2026, has now entered a new chapter. The Central Jakarta Metro Police have completed the investigation and transferred the case file to the Central Jakarta District Prosecutor’s Office.

VL recounted that the incident began when he was invited to meet Bangun Paulus Tudungta and four other individuals at a hotel in Jakarta. After the meeting, he was taken on a drive around Jakarta before experiencing what he described as extortion and threats. According to VL, while passing through the Benyamin Sueb area in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta, he was asked to hand over Rp500 million. He said he was pressured and threatened with not being allowed to go home if he did not comply with the demand. In that situation, VL ultimately handed over Rp60 million. Afterwards, he said he was dropped off in the Puncak area of Bogor. “The extortion and threats against me carried out by the lawyer Bangun Paulus Tudungta have left me quite traumatised,” VL said.
