Mataram (ANTARA) - The Central Lombok Police Resort in West Nusa Tenggara has halted the handling of a suspected violation of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE) case involving the upload of photos and videos on Facebook showing bread containing maggots in a Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) package. “The case has been discontinued based on the case review,” said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of Central Lombok Police Resort, AKP Punguan Hutahaean, via a written WhatsApp message on Thursday. He explained that the handling was stopped because the case review results found no elements of unlawful acts as reported regarding defamation. “It was halted because it did not meet the elements and follows the Constitutional Court Decision No. 105 of 2024,” he stated. The suspects are the owners of the Facebook account who uploaded photos and videos of the MBG bread containing maggots. They are two housewives from Ketara Village, Central Lombok Regency, Jamiatul Munawaroh and Baiq Restu Tunggal Kencana. One of the suspects, Jamiatul Munawaroh, is recorded as having uploaded content of the bread in the MBG package via her personal Facebook account on 10 March 2026. In the 22-second upload, Jamiatul displayed the MBG bread containing maggots, but did not mention any agency name, individual name, or specific address. Jamiatul immediately deleted the video upload a few minutes after posting it.
