Police have issued a termination of investigation order (SP3) for Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar regarding the case of allegations of a forged diploma belonging to the seventh President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi). With the issuance of this letter, Rismon Sianipar’s suspect status has been nullified.

“After that, it met the criteria in the legal mechanism, and then the case was terminated with SP3. This means that the legal suspect status for Mr RS has automatically been revoked, because he has submitted an apology request and returned the situation to its original state for the victim,” said the Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, to reporters on Friday (17/4/2026), quoted from detikNews.

The Director of Criminal Investigation of Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, explained that the case termination process was carried out after Jokowi forgave Rismon. It is known that the apology was conveyed by Rismon when he met Jokowi in Solo.

Police also once facilitated a meeting between Rismon and Jokowi’s side at the Ditreskrimum building of Metro Jaya Police. Jokowi’s side stated that they accepted Rismon’s apology.

“Furthermore, the termination of the investigation against Mr RHS does not nullify the investigation process against other suspects up to the trial in court,” said Iman.

For information, in this case, Metro Jaya Police has designated a total of eight people as suspects, one of whom is former Minister of Youth and Sports Roy Suryo. In its developments, Eggi Sudjana, Damai Hari Lubis, and Rismon Sianipar submitted restoration justice requests to the police.

Police then followed up on those requests, ultimately terminating their cases. Thus, five suspects remain in the case.
