Police Gradually Transfer Three Corruption Cases to Attorney General's Office

The Indonesian National Police (Polri) is gradually transferring the administrative files of three corruption cases to the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung). The cases involve corruption in coal procurement for a steam power plant (PLTU), corruption at Asabri and Jiwasraya between 2020 and 2025, and money laundering related to the debt settlement process of PT CBS to PT KNI. “The cases have been transferred to the Attorney General’s Office for further investigation. All investigation administration and evidence will be handed over to the Attorney General’s Office in stages for follow-up,” said the Head of Operations for the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps (Kortastipidkor), Commissioner Ahmad Yusuf Afandi, in Jakarta on Sunday. In addition to the case files, he stated that the transfer of suspects would also be carried out in stages. “Yes, in stages. Investigators must prepare everything, including the administration,” he said. Kortastipidkor Polri has transferred the handling of the alleged corruption and money laundering cases involving former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes, Febrie Adriansyah, to the Attorney General’s Office. The Head of Kortastipidkor Polri, Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, said the transfer was based on an agreement between the Police and the Attorney General’s Office as a form of law enforcement synergy. “We have agreed with the Attorney General’s Office that the handling of these three cases by Police investigators has been transferred to the Attorney General’s Office for synergy,” said Totok. The two-star general explained that during the investigation, Police investigators had examined 15 witnesses and two experts, as well as searched 13 locations in Jakarta and Sentul, Bogor Regency, West Java. Investigators have also conducted a case title and named two suspects, namely Febrie Adriansyah and businessman Don Ritto. Meanwhile, the Acting Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes, Rudi Margono, confirmed that the Attorney General’s Office had received the transfer of the three cases from Kortastipidkor. According to Rudi, the transfer demonstrates a commitment and synergy between institutions to ensure the cases are handled more quickly and effectively.
