Police Forensic Laboratory Team Investigates Explosion at Loxus Padel in Bogor's Ciangsana

A team from the Forensic Laboratory Centre (Puslabfor) at National Police Headquarters is investigating the explosion case that occurred at Loxus Padel in Ciangsana, Gunung Putri Subdistrict, Bogor Regency, West Java. The explosion took place on Thursday morning (9/4) around 05:16 WIB. The padel sports building collapsed. There were no fatalities, only victims with minor injuries who were immediately treated. “The explosion is estimated to have occurred at 05:16 WIB. It is suspected to have happened in the cafe area within the padel facility,” stated Gunung Putri Police Chief Commissioner Aulia Robby. He explained that because the location is adjacent to Ciangsana 03 Primary School (SD), the damage affected the school building. “The affected area includes SD 3 Ciangsana. A small portion of its wall was impacted. However, there were no fatalities,” he clarified. To determine the cause, a team from Puslabfor at National Police Headquarters was brought to the scene and conducted a crime scene examination (TKP). “A team from Puslabfor at National Police Headquarters has arrived to process the TKP. The cause is still under investigation; the Puslabfor team is still working. Updates will be provided later,” he concluded. Meanwhile, according to Isah, a neighbouring resident, the incident caused her panic. The explosion sound was very loud. “I heard an explosion. Boom, that’s it. The house is nearby. I looked out and saw a bit of fire rising. It shook the roof tiles. More than panic, it’s close to home. The school is damaged; that’s visible,” Isah recounted. Not only the school, but her child’s house was also affected. Part of the wall and ceiling of her house were damaged due to the explosion’s vibrations. “My child’s house is badly damaged. The ceiling was hit by the vibrations. I want it fixed properly,” she said. Isah also mentioned that she saw someone who was injured and being treated. “I asked around what exploded, but they said they didn’t know. I saw two injured people, one woman and one man, and they were already being treated,” she added. Meanwhile, based on information from the Bogor Regency Education Office, due to the explosion at the Loxus Padel Club sports area, five classrooms at SDN Ciangsana 03 sustained damage. Nevertheless, it did not cause any fatalities among students or educators, as the incident occurred in the early hours outside of learning activities.
