Police Force Builds International-Standard Taruna Unggulan School

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that Polri continues to contribute to improving the quality of Indonesia’s human resources through the development of a leading educational institution with international standards. He made the statement during a report at the 80th Bhayangkara Day Commemoration Ceremony in 2026 in Bogor Regency, Wednesday (1/7). According to him, human resource strengthening is carried out through Polri’s cooperation with the Yayasan Kader Bangsa Indonesia (YKBI) and a number of education observers in building SMA Kepala Taruna Bhayangkara (KTB). The school has now achieved international recognition and become one of the leading education programmes. “To improve the quality of Indonesia’s human resources, Polri together with the YKB Foundation, the Yayasan Kader Bangsa Indonesia, and education observers built SMA Kepala Taruna Bhayangkara which, alhamdulillah, on 11 June 2026 received the international Baccalaureate Diploma Programme certificate, making it equivalent to world-class educational institutions, and its alumni can have a great opportunity to continue their education at the 20 best universities in the world,” said Listyo. He added that SMA KTB has currently prepared its second cohort of 180 students. These students have an average Intelligence Quotient (IQ) above 120 and are the result of a rigorous selection process from 14,582 applicants. The high number of applicants demonstrates the public’s great interest in quality education developed through the institution. The programme is expected to produce a superior generation ready to compete at the global level, while strengthening Polri’s contribution to national human resource development.
