Police Foil Circulation of 1,000 Ecstasy Pills in North Jakarta, Sahroni: Wipe Out Drug Dealers
The Jakarta Metropolitan Police have thwarted the circulation of ecstasy and crystal meth in an apartment in the Penjaringan area, North Jakarta. In this case, the police have secured two individuals, identified as T and F, who are now suspects. The Head of Sub-Directorate 2 of the Narcotics Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, AKBP Tiyatno Pamungkas, stated that the police confiscated 1,000 ecstasy pills and 115 grams of crystal meth as evidence.
This performance of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police has received appreciation from Ahmad Sahroni, Deputy Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI. The legislator from North Jakarta has urged the Indonesian National Police and the BNN to continue collaborating to eradicate drug dealers.
“I highly appreciate the work of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police; this is not a small achievement. From these 1,000 ecstasy pills and 115 grams of crystal meth, dozens or even hundreds of lives have been saved from the dangers of drugs. This means that the authorities have succeeded in breaking the chain that could damage the future of many young people,” said Sahroni in a written statement on Friday, May 15, 2026.
Sahroni also urged the police to continue working with the BNN to eradicate drug trafficking in all forms, so that drugs can be completely eliminated from society.
Sahroni also believes that this discovery is an alarm that North Jakarta is still vulnerable to drug trafficking and requires extra attention from the authorities.
“This disclosure should be the entry point to sweep other vulnerable areas in North Jakarta. I suspect that there are still many locations that are used as places for drug production and distribution. If this continues to be uncovered, the police will not only arrest the perpetrators but also save the future of our young generation,” said Sahroni.
