Police Fire Warning Shots Whilst Arresting Violent Robbers in Tangerang City
The Operational Criminal Investigation Team of the Tangerang City Metro Police together with Jatiuwung Police Station apprehended three perpetrators of violent robbery who operated in the Flyover Cibodas Park area, Tangerang City. The three perpetrators are known members of the Cikande 01 gangster group.
The arrest of one perpetrator took place dramatically in the Pasar Kemis area, Tangerang Regency. Police became involved in a chase with the perpetrator who attempted to flee into a residential plantation area. Officers even fired warning shots into the air as the perpetrator continued attempting to escape while being apprehended.
One suspect with the initial R is known to be on the wanted persons list following involvement in a robbery against two motorcycle riders on Cibodas Flyover on 12 May 2026. In that incident, two victims named Dimas and Sarif sustained serious slash wounds inflicted by a sickle-type sharp weapon whilst defending their motorcycle from the perpetrators.
According to the Tangerang City Metro Police Criminal Investigation Head AKBP Parikhesit, the perpetrators numbered six individuals and operated using two motorcycles. “The victim at that time was riding a motorcycle with a passenger. The perpetrators cut off the victim and attempted to seize the victim’s vehicle. However, the victim resisted, causing the perpetrator to slash the victim with a sickle,” said Parikhesit.
He explained that the motorcycle driver sustained six slash wounds on the back, shoulder, and thigh. Meanwhile, the passenger riding behind suffered one stab wound from a sharp weapon.
According to Parikhesit, the perpetrators’ action failed after nearby residents arrived to assist the victim. In a state of panic, the perpetrators fled and left several pieces of evidence including helmets and masks. “From the abandoned helmet there was a Cikande 01 gang logo. From the results of the investigation we successfully apprehended three perpetrators with initials R, DP and MH,” he said.
Police also secured several pieces of evidence including helmets, masks, mobile phones, and the sickle used by the perpetrators during their crime. Currently three other perpetrators remain listed as wanted and are subject to police manhunt.
The three arrested suspects are now detained in the cells of Jatiuwung Police Station, Tangerang City Metro Police.
