Police fail to find missing body parts of sack victim in Depok

Police have not recovered all body parts of a corpse found inside a sack in the Tanah Merah area, Jalan Kapling Depkes, Pancoran Mas, Depok City, on Tuesday. “Yes, we can confirm that some parts of the victim’s body were not found at the crime scene. However, we are still investigating,” said AKBP Made Gede Oka Utama, Head of Criminal Investigation at the Depok Metro Police. Authorities will provide an official statement once the autopsy process is completed with the forensic medical team at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital. “We will disclose the victim’s identity once we have confirmation,” he added. Officers were alerted to the presence of the body in the sack following a report from residents in the Pancoran Mas area on Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. After receiving the information, officers conducted a series of investigations, including a crime scene examination and interviews with witnesses who made the discovery. The victim was subsequently evacuated and taken to the Kramat Jati Police Hospital for initial handling. According to residents, the body was initially found inside a rice sack. Witnesses initially thought it was rubbish and set it on fire. “During the burning process, they saw parts of the victim’s body,” Made said. The Inafis team from the Depok Metro Police had earlier investigated the discovery of the male body. The body has been taken for further forensic examination.
