Police evacuate student who fainted during protest in Jakarta

The medical team of the Metro Jaya Regional Police evacuated a student with the initials AF (21) who fainted while taking part in a protest in the Dukuh Atas area, Jalan MH Thamrin, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday.

Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, explained that the student from Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka (UHAMKA) Limau immediately received first aid from medical personnel from the Medical and Health Division (Dokkes) at the scene.

“Officers provided initial oxygen assistance before evacuating the victim using a stretcher to an ambulance to be referred to Budi Kemuliaan Hospital, Central Jakarta, for further medical treatment,” he said in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday.

The victim’s condition was reported to be gradually improving and he had regained consciousness after receiving medical treatment. “Officers continue to carry out periodic monitoring and provide oxygen assistance until the victim’s condition is stable,” said Budi.

According to Budi, the preparation of health teams in the field is a manifestation of the police’s commitment to providing humane services during activities to express aspirations.

“The presence of personnel in the field is not only to maintain security and order, but also to provide services. When there are protesters who need help, the medical team immediately provides treatment and ensures that the person concerned receives the necessary care,” said Budi.

The Metro Jaya Regional Police deployed health facilities and medical teams at a number of strategic points to ensure that the entire series of activities to express opinions runs safely, orderly, and responsively to emergency conditions of protesters and the surrounding community.
