Jakarta — Central Jakarta Police Chief Commissioner Reynold E.P. Hutagalung said hundreds of personnel had been deployed to ensure the security of the protest organised by the Forum Komunikasi Ojol Tertindas (FORKOT) proceeds safely, calmly and humanely.

“We are here to provide service and protection so that the act of expressing opinions in public can run safely, in an orderly manner and without disrupting the interests of other members of the public,” he said.

Reynold stressed that all personnel were instructed to prioritise a persuasive and humane approach during security operations. He affirmed that the situation around the venue was safe and under control. Police also conducted traffic management to minimise vehicle congestion around the Monas area.

“We emphasise a humane approach to all participants. Please express your aspirations in an orderly fashion in accordance with the rules in force so that the situation remains safe and conducive,” he added.

The protest, attended by around one hundred participants, proceeded safely and peacefully. The demonstrators arrived with a command vehicle, banners, demand posters and alliance flags.

During the demonstration, online motorcycle taxi drivers voiced calls for revisions to Presidential Regulation No. 27 of 2026 regarding an 8 per cent deduction and the rejection of partner status as workers, as well as pushing for stronger regulation to protect ojol partners.

Police officers on duty at the site also provided humane service by displaying a banner reading ‘Welcome Aspirations Fighters, Express Your Views in an Orderly Manner, We Are Ready to Serve’.
