Police have arrested a man named Suparman, also known as Blendus (53), for the brutal murder of Bilqis Rajiansyah Lestari (11), a child from Bromoasri, Dawung Village, Jenar District, Sragen. Officers were forced to dive into the Bengawan Solo River to search for evidence.

Sragen Police Chief AKBP Dewiana Syamsu Indiyasari stated that the clothes worn by the perpetrator, which he discarded after the crime, were found after a search around the Ndrojo Bridge in Sambungmacan. “To find the clothes worn by the perpetrator during the crime, we conducted a search up to the Ndrojo Bridge. Based on the perpetrator’s confession, after committing the crime, he threw away his clothes, namely a t-shirt and trousers, into the Bengawan Solo River, and thank God, they have all been found,” Dewiana explained, as reported by detikJateng on Friday (12/6/2026).

Police also seized the victim’s motorcycle, which was stolen by the perpetrator. The receiver who took the vehicle has also been detained. “The motive was that the perpetrator wanted to take possession of the victim’s property, namely a Vario motorcycle and a mobile phone,” she said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Sragen Police Criminal Investigation Unit, AKP Catur Agus Yudo Praseno, said that after killing Bilqis, the perpetrator immediately disposed of his clothes in the Bengawan Solo River. He stated that the clothes were successfully found after officers dived into the river. “What is clear is that the suspect possessed a certain intelligence, because after committing the crime, he made an effort to dispose of the evidence. So, after leaving the crime scene, he immediately threw an orange hoodie jacket and long black trousers into the Bengawan, and thank God we found them after our members dived in. Yes, they dived to search for evidence,” Catur explained.

“Secondly, a pair of short chino trousers, brown in colour, which when we showed to his child before they were found, the child immediately said, ‘These are the chino trousers I bought when I was in Sulawesi.’ The child then took the other pair of trousers and said, ‘Look, sir, this is mine and they are identical, only father’s are brown.’ And thank God we also found them discarded in a plantation, hidden underneath,” he continued.
