On Saturday night (16 May 2026), the Kebon Jeruk Police Department of the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police, together with elements of the ‘three pillars’ security force, conducted Enhanced Routine Patrols (KRYD). The patrols targeted several areas prone to disturbances of public order and security.

“During the patrol, officers found a number of teenagers gathering and loitering in the area,” said Kebon Jeruk Police Chief Kompol Nur Aqsha Ferdianto in a statement on Sunday (17 May).

However, when officers approached them for inspection, the teenagers immediately fled. After searching the surrounding area, officers found two machetes and one toy weapon hidden in an abandoned building.

“In addition, officers also found synthetic tobacco (sinte),” he said.

Kompol Nur Aqsha Ferdianto said that KRYD patrols with the ‘three pillars’ are carried out routinely. This is a preventive measure to create a safe environment and achieve zero brawls in the Kebon Jeruk area.

“We carry out these patrols to anticipate various forms of street crime such as brawls, robberies, theft, and motorcycle gang activities,” he said.

He added that the discovery of weapons and drugs is important evidence of the importance of territorial patrols in preventing potential disturbances to public order from an early stage.

The Kebon Jeruk Police appealed to the public not to hesitate to report any suspicious activity or criminal acts through the police hotline 110 so that officers can take immediate action.
