Police Dismantle Motorcycle Theft Ring Troubling Dompu Residents

Police from the Kempo precinct have dismantled a motorcycle theft network that had been troubling residents in Dompu Regency, West Nusa Tenggara. One suspect has been arrested while another remains at large.

Kempo Police Chief, First Inspector Agustamin, stated that officers arrested a suspect identified as J (30), a resident of Mbuju Village, Kilo District, on Wednesday (15/7/2026). J is suspected of frequently committing motorcycle thefts in the Kempo district area.

“Another suspect, identified as F (28), is still on the wanted list,” Agustamin said on Friday (17/7/2026).

He revealed that F stole a resident’s motorcycle parked in front of the NTB Bank in Kempo District in June 2026. Subsequently, suspect J stole a motorcycle belonging to a resident in Ta’a Village, Kempo District, on Friday (10/7/2026). The motorcycle was taken by J from the victim’s home.

Both incidents were reported by the victims to the Kempo Police, who conducted an investigation and successfully identified both suspects.

Police then apprehended J while he was hiding at his home in Mbuju Village. “During the search, officers also found and seized two stolen motorcycles at suspect J’s house, which matched the victims’ reports,” Agustamin explained.

Upon his arrest, J was immediately taken to the Kempo Police headquarters and will be transferred to the Dompu Police. Meanwhile, F, who is now on the wanted list, continues to be pursued by officers.
