The Directorate of Narcotics Reserse of the Metro Jaya Police uncovered the distribution of illegal hard drugs at two locations operating under the guise of a mobile phone shop and a grocery store. In this operation, police arrested three suspects.

“We secured three suspects. The first is MI (18) in the Jagakarsa area of South Jakarta, and then ML (20) and B (30) in the Cimanggis area of Depok,” stated Kompol Denny Simanjuntak, Chief of Unit 2, Section 3 of the Metro Jaya Police Narcotics Directorate, in a statement on Sunday (15 March).

Denny explained that the first operation was conducted at a mobile phone shop located on Jalan Nangka, Tanjung Barat village, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta on Wednesday (11 March) at approximately 21:00 Western Indonesian Time.

The raid at the location was initiated by public information regarding allegations of hard drug distribution being sold covertly under the guise of selling mobile phone credit.

“During the search, we secured one suspect with initials MI (18) and recovered 454 hard drug tablets,” Denny said.

The second operation was then conducted at a rented unit in the Cimanggis area of Depok City. The location was raided following information that it was selling hard drugs disguised as a grocery store business operation.

However, when officers arrived, the shophouse was locked. The team subsequently received further information that the distribution activity was taking place at a rented house on Jalan Benda Kramat, Cisalak, Cimanggis.

At that location, police successfully apprehended two men with initials B (30) and ML (20). Additionally, 1,897 schedule G narcotic tablets were seized.

“In total, police apprehended three suspects and seized 2,351 hard drug tablets from schedule G,” said Denny.

Denny stated that the three suspects and evidence have been brought to the Metro Jaya Police Narcotics Directorate headquarters for further investigation.
