Police Dismantle Home-Based Narcotics Cartridge Industry in PIK

A joint operation by the Resort City Police (Polresta) and the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Customs and Excise Office has dismantled a home-based narcotics production industry in the elite Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) residential area, North Jakarta, on Friday. During the raid, officers from the Narcotics Investigation Unit discovered thousands of ready-to-distribute cartridge pods and seized production equipment, including a mini laboratory. One suspect, a 34-year-old Singaporean national with the initials LHM, was arrested and is believed to have acted as the cook for the narcotics operation. The case came to light following the interception of a package containing two bottles of etomidate raw material, weighing 2,200 grams, which was being smuggled from Malaysia by the Soekarno-Hatta Customs team. A subsequent joint operation by customs and police led to the discovery of the production site in the elite housing complex. Authorities revealed that the home industry had only just commenced operations, producing the cartridges on Thursday (16/7), and that the two litres of etomidate raw material could yield approximately 2,000 ready-to-distribute cartridge pods. The suspect and all evidence, including the etomidate and production tools, have been secured by the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police for further investigation. The luxury house used as the international narcotics production site has been sealed off by the authorities.
