Police Discover "Rundown" Scenario for DPR Riot, Including Attack Times and Escape Routes
Jakarta Metropolitan Police (Polda Metro Jaya) have discovered a document suspected to contain a rundown of plans for riots while securing 101 individuals during the International Labour Day or May Day action in the vicinity of the DPR/MPR RI building, Jakarta, on Friday (1/5/2026). Director of General Criminal Investigation at Polda Metro Jaya, Senior Commissioner Iman Imanuddin, stated that the document was found along with several other pieces of evidence by the police. He explained that the document also includes information regarding the group’s arrival routes to the protest site, up to their plans for leaving the DPR area. Iman revealed that the police also found pre-determined gathering points. “So, where they come from, what the incident will be like, and where they must return. They have already determined the gathering points,” he said. In addition to the rundown document, the police secured several other pieces of evidence, such as empty bottles, cloth, bottles containing petrol, slingshots, concrete nails, sharp weapons, communication devices, and cash. Currently, the 101 secured individuals are undergoing examinations for further investigation. Iman mentioned that most of them come from outside Jakarta. He added that his side is attempting to contact the families of those secured so they can pick them up after the examination is complete. “We have also been contacted by the Indonesian Legal Aid Foundation, coordinating with us to ensure rights, and we guarantee that their human rights are well protected,” he added.
