Police Discover Large Safe During Raid on de'Clan Cafe in Cipete

Police discovered a large safe hidden behind a cupboard during a search of the de’Clan Signature cafe in the Cipete area, Cilandak, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/7).

The Criminal Investigation Directorate of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police and the National Police’s Corruption Investigation Division (Kortastipidkor) conducted raids across eight locations today as part of investigations into corruption and money laundering (TPPU).

“It is true (a safe was found),” said the Head of Kortastipidker of the National Police, Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, to reporters.

Totok explained that there are a total of three cases being handled jointly with the Jakarta Metropolitan Police through a joint investigation mechanism. These include the corruption and money laundering cases involving PLN BB, the Asabri case spanning 2020 to 2025, and an alleged corruption case regarding the debt settlement of PT CBS to PT KNI between 2020 and 2025.

Meanwhile, the Director of Criminal Investigation of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Kombes Victor Dean Macbon, stated that the handling of these cases originated from two police reports. The first report concerns alleged corruption and/or money laundering involving civil servants or state officials in the PT Asabri (Persero) and/or Asuransi Jiwasraya cases occurring between 2020 and 2025.

The second report relates to alleged corruption and/or money laundering in the process of settling the debts or obligations of PT CBS to PT KNI by civil servants or state officials between 2020 and 2025.

“The steps we are taking today involve efforts to secure evidence across approximately eight locations where we are conducting searches,” he said.
