Police discovered a large safe hidden behind a wardrobe while searching the de’Clan Signature cafe in the Cipete area of Cilandak, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/7). The Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Regional Police and the Corruption Eradication Task Force of the Indonesian National Police searched a total of eight locations on Wednesday in connection with handling corruption and money laundering cases. “Correct (a safe was found),” said the Head of the Corruption Eradication Task Force, Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, to reporters. Totok explained that there are three cases being handled jointly with the Metro Jaya Regional Police under a joint investigation mechanism. “The handling of corruption and money laundering cases in the legal handling process of the PLN BB case, then Asabri from 2020 to 2025, and the alleged corruption case in the debt settlement process of PT CBS to PT KNI from 2020-2025,” he said. Meanwhile, the Director of Special Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Victor Dean Macbon, stated that the handling of this case originated from two received police reports. The first report concerns alleged criminal acts of corruption and/or money laundering in the legal handling process by individual state officials or state administrators in the case of PT Asabri (Persero) and/or Asuransi Jiwasraya which occurred during the period of 2020 to 2025. The second report concerns alleged criminal acts of corruption and/or money laundering in the process of settling the debt or obligations of PT CBS to PT KNI by state officials or state administrators which occurred during the period of 2020 to 2025. “The steps we are taking today involve efforts to fulfil evidence requirements at approximately eight locations where we are conducting searches,” he said.
