Police Detain Dozens of Students on Brink of Brawl in Bogor, Seize Sickles

Twenty students have been detained on suspicion of planning a brawl on Jalan Sholeh Iskandar (Sholis) in Bogor City. Police also seized two sickles.

“We detained them on Jalan Sholeh Iskandar near the underpass. The number of students detained is around 20. The evidence includes two sickles,” said Bogor City Student Task Force member Martin on Friday (12/6/2026).

The detained students are from a vocational high school (SMK) in Bogor City. They are suspected of waiting for their opponents and had stopped other students on Jalan Sholis at around 1 p.m. Western Indonesian Time.

“Initially, we received a public complaint about a group of students hanging around, but the negative part was that they were stopping other students passing by,” Martin said.

“So a brawl had not yet occurred, but we carried out prevention, and they were suspected of planning to engage in a brawl,” he added.

The dozens of students are now being held at the Bogor City Police headquarters for examination and guidance. The evidence, consisting of two sickles, has also been handed over to the police.

“At this moment, we have coordinated with their respective schools, and the students are being detained at the Bogor City Police headquarters,” Martin said.
