Police Detain 14 Youths in Parung Panjang, Bogor, Following Brawl; Weapons Seized
So far, we have secured 14 individuals allegedly involved in the brawl,” said Parung Panjang Police Chief Kompol Mohamad Taufik on Sunday (17 May 2026). “Evidence seized includes eight bladed weapons, several motorcycles, and mobile phones.”
Taufik stated that the youths were apprehended following information received from the community about a group of young people planning a brawl. Police arrived at the location and dispersed the group, preventing the brawl from taking place.
“We responded immediately, went to the location, specifically in the Sudamanik area of Lumpang Village, and with the help of local residents, we successfully dispersed the youths and secured 14 individuals,” said Taufik.
Taufik mentioned that some of the detained youths are students from various areas. The police have invited representatives from the schools and parents of the detained youths to participate in an educational session.
“We are still investigating the motive behind the brawl. We have taken all 14 youths into custody for questioning and further investigation. If there is sufficient evidence, we will take appropriate legal action,” said Taufik.
“Based on our interviews with the 14 individuals, they come from different areas, including Kemang and Cigudeg, as well as outside the city. We immediately coordinated with their families and schools because some of them are still students. We will provide guidance to these youths,” he added.
