SURABAYA, East Java: The police dismissed one of its members
from East Java's Mobile Brigade (Brimob) force on Monday for
deserting while on duty.
First Sgt. R. Yogi Hari Christanto was officially dismissed
from Brimob during a regular flag-hoisting ceremony presided over
by East Java Police Sr. Supt. M. Syamsuddin at Police
Headquarters in Surabaya.
His dismissal letter was dated Aug. 28, 2001 and signed by the
National Police chief.
However, it was not clear why the policeman had deserted.
During Monday's ceremony, two other Brimob members - First
