Police Deploy Five Security Posts in Thousand Islands for Eid 2026
Jakarta — The Thousand Islands Police Department is preparing five security posts distributed across several islands in the region for Eid 2026/Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah.
“This coordination meeting is for securing the flow of tourists who will be visiting the Thousand Islands region. We are preparing security to ensure that community activities proceed safely and smoothly,” said Head of Community Relations at the Thousand Islands Police Department, Senior Police Commissioner Rahmat Suryaman.
This statement was made following a Cross-Sectoral Coordination Meeting for the Centralised Police Operation “Ketupat Jaya 2026” in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The Thousand Islands Police Department will involve other security units to jointly maintain security during Idul Fitri 1447 Hijriah, including personnel from the Indonesian Military (TNI), the National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas), Civil Police, the Sub-District Health Office, the Sub-District Transportation Office, and other security services.
“This activity will be conducted from 13 March until 25 March 2026. We will provide maximum service to residents and the public,” he said.
The Deputy Regent of Thousand Islands, Aceng Zaeni, stated that Thousand Islands Regency fully supports the preparedness and security measures being carried out by the Thousand Islands Police Department.
According to him, this activity is an important agenda in maintaining security and order to welcome Eid al-Fitr.
“Certainly, Operation ‘Ketupat Jaya 2026’ can provide a sense of security and comfort for residents or tourists who will enjoy the Eid al-Fitr moment,” he said.
He stated that support is needed from all parties, particularly regarding the safety and seaworthiness of vessels to ensure they meet standards and are fit for operation.
“Similarly, security measures to anticipate the surge in tourist visits to the Thousand Islands region,” he said.
