A total of 706 joint personnel have been placed on standby to secure demonstrations in Central Jakarta today. The protests are set to take place at several locations.

According to state news agency Antara on Monday (20/7/2026), the joint police personnel were deployed from the Metro Jaya Regional Police, Central Jakarta Metro Police, and sector police. Central Jakarta Metro Police Public Relations Head Iptu Erlyn Sumantri stated that the demonstration would be held by the Executive Board of State Islamic Religious University Students from across Indonesia and several other mass groups in Gambir.

“Security is in place for the demonstration by the Executive Board of State Islamic Religious University Students and several other groups in the Gambir area, with the activity planned for 3 p.m. Western Indonesia Time,” Erlyn said in a written statement.

The student demonstration is scheduled for 3 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. Additionally, a protest will be held by the Indonesian Young Activist Network and several mass groups at the Financial Services Authority (OJK) office at 11 a.m. Western Indonesia Time.

Officers will implement situational traffic management at the demonstration sites, taking into account the number of participants on the ground. The public is advised to avoid areas around the protests to anticipate traffic congestion.
