Police deploy 3,269 personnel to secure dhikr and prayer event at Monas
The Jakarta Metropolitan Regional Police have deployed a combined force of 3,26lar69 personnel to secure the National Dhikr and Prayer event, held in commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at the National Monument (Monas) area, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (1/8).
Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Pol. Reynold E.P. Hutagalung, stated that all personnel must understand their specific duties at their respective security posts and prioritise public service.
“All personnel must carry out their duties professionally, humanely, and with full responsibility. Ensure that every security ring operates optimally, there is no mass congestion, and all participants can follow the activities safely and comfortably,” Reynold said in Jakarta on Saturday.
He emphasised to all controlling officers the importance of implementing a four-ring security pattern, managing participant access points, securing VVIP lanes, and overseeing parking areas and bus drop-off points. Furthermore, he highlighted the necessity of coordination between personnel on the ground, particularly regarding the management of arrival and departure flows.
Chief Reynold also urged members of the public attending the National Dhikr and Prayer to follow officers’ directions, use the provided parking areas, and maintain order throughout the event.
“We invite the entire community to work together to keep the situation safe and conducive,” he added. Personnel have also been instructed not to leave their assigned locations before receiving orders from their superiors.
