Bogor Police have clarified misinformation circulating on social media alleging that a sexual abuse perpetrator in Gunung Putri, Bogor Regency, was released following mediation. Police confirmed the suspect has been detained and the case is being thoroughly investigated.

“We can explain that on 16 June 2026, our Women and Children Protection Unit received a report from the victim’s parents. The case is still ongoing, has not been halted, and is currently being processed,” said AKP Silfi Adi Putri, Head of the Women and Children Protection Unit at Bogor Police, on Friday evening (19/6/2026).

Silfi stressed that the alleged perpetrator is currently being held at Bogor Police headquarters and the case status has been elevated from preliminary inquiry to full investigation. “At present, the alleged perpetrator has been secured at Bogor Police headquarters for further intensive examination. Today we upgraded the case status from inquiry to investigation,” she stated.

“We will certainly seek evidence in accordance with applicable laws to designate the reported individual as a suspect,” she added.

Silfi also denied allegations that investigators had requested money. She confirmed that she had sought clarification from the investigators handling the case. “We have clarified with the investigators involved that day that they never asked the reporting party for Rp 10 million,” Silfi said. “The report was received and is being processed. The reporting party also never provided Rp 10 million to the investigators,” she added.

She emphasised that the case will be investigated thoroughly and that her team is continuing to gather evidence to name the perpetrator as a suspect.
