Police Crack Down on Illegally Parked Soil Trucks on Cikande Highway

Cikande Police have responded to public complaints by cracking down on the rampant illegal parking of soil trucks along the Serang-Tangerang highway. The presence of these trucks, which occupy the road shoulder, is considered highly dangerous for other road users.

“The presence of these soil trucks taking up the road lane is very disruptive to traffic flow and has the potential to cause accidents,” said Cikande Police Chief Commissioner Rudika Harto Kanajiri on Tuesday.

Rudika stated that his unit has repeatedly taken action against these violations, but the problem persists. “This activity of using part of the road body as a parking area has been repeatedly addressed and warnings have been issued, but some drivers remain stubborn,” he explained.

To prevent future incidents, the police will station personnel at specific points deemed prone to congestion and accidents caused by the illegally parked trucks. “We have instructed our personnel to secure certain points that are vulnerable to traffic jams and accidents,” Rudika added.

He also issued a stern appeal to transport entrepreneurs and truck drivers to stop endangering other road users. “We strongly urge drivers and fleet owners to comply with the regulations and stop using the road body as a parking lot. Use safe and official parking areas for the collective safety,” he concluded.
