Police Coordinate with Immigration on Legal Process for Iraqi National Who Killed Mpok Nori's Granddaughter

Police have designated Iraqi national Fuad as a suspect in the murder of DA (37), the granddaughter of artist Mpok Nori, in Cipayung, East Jakarta. Police stated that they will coordinate with Immigration regarding the legal process, residency status, and potential deportation of the perpetrator. “Of course, we will definitely coordinate with Immigration and also the Embassy. We have already written to the Embassy yesterday,” said AKP Fechy J Atupah, Panit 2 of Subdit Resmob Polda Metro Jaya, to reporters on Monday (23/3/2026). “He has a passport. That’s why we will first coordinate with Immigration to check if his entry into Indonesia was truly legal, and then after coordinating with Immigration,” he added. Fechy stated that the perpetrator claimed to only speak English and Arabic despite having lived in Indonesia for nine years. He said the perpetrator works as a perfume seller in the Mangga Dua area. “He is a foreigner, he has been in Indonesia for about nine years using KITAS and KITAP. We will also coordinate with Immigration regarding the KITAS and KITAP,” he said. The perpetrator was arrested at around 12:49 WIB on Saturday (21/3). He was caught while boarding a bus to flee to Sumatra at the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road rest area kilometre 68. “The article applied so far is Article 458 subsidiary Article 468 on murder with a prison sentence threat of 15 years,” he said. The victim was found on Saturday (21/3) at 04:30 WIB on Jalan Daman I, Bambu Apus, Cipayung, East Jakarta. Initially, the victim’s mother with initials B visited the victim’s rented house on Saturday (21/3) at 03:00 WIB. However, at that time, the house door was locked from the inside. The victim’s sibling with initials A then opened the house door. At that point, the victim was found dead on the floor. Police stated that the victim’s blood had already dried. “KA SPK, Iden Polres Metro Jaktim, and the on-duty Reskrim arrived at the crime scene at 05:30 WIB. Preliminary results show a slashing wound on the neck,” he said.
