Police confiscate electronic goods

SEMARANG, Central Java: Semarang Police have confiscated hundreds of fake Philips electronics goods following a raid on several stores along Jl. M. T. Haryono and at Langgar market on Saturday.

The police confiscated two VCD players, 573 light bulbs, and hundreds of blenders and mixers from the stores.

The police said that they raided the stores based on a report from PT Philips Indonesia.

Ganda H. Sianturi of PT Philips Indonesia said that his company had suffered huge losses because of the production of the fake electronic goods.

He said fake Philips light bulbs did not shine as brightly as the genuine product, while the fake mixers and blenders did not have warranty certificates. Antara
